Welcome to the Auckland Central Community Shed Inc
The Shed re-opened on Wednesday 20 May.
Level 2 COVID-19 protocols - only ten members permitted to attend at each session; the front door will be locked, knock for access.
Updated member expectations are now included on the About page.
A Duty Manager will be present at each session to maintain the correct use of tool, health & safety and to encourage member participation in clean-up and maintenance.
The Auckland Central Community Shed (ACCS) is a not-for- profit community workshop where for a minimal annual fee members can have access to a fully equipped work space. The Shed provides a place for people to be able to work on projects and hobbies with support and machinery provided - as well as a place to drop in, chat and exchange ideas.
The Auckland Central Community Shed Inc welcomes new members - aged over 18, both male and female. If you’re not too sure about joining then just come along and spend some time chatting with the people at the Shed. Members will have a variety of skills and experience. They can work on their own personal projects, give help and support to other members or be involved in a group project for other community organisations.
With a 400 sq m space in a great central location, the spaces are separated into wood working, metal work (engineering), electrical and 3D modelling spaces. New equipment is regularly added.
There are many types of activities that can be undertaken, including:
Small boat repairs
Small engineering projects
Skill sharing of all sorts
The Shed is located in Gribblehurst Park at 225 Sandringham Road, Sandringham, behind the Eden Rugby Club and occupying the ground floor in what was the old Edenvale Bowling Club.
Standard Opening Hours & Days
The Shed is open on Mondays and Wednesdays 10am-3pm; Wednesday evenings 6.30-9.30pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm.
