HEALTH AND SAFETY
HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT
Auckland Community Shed Inc is committed to ensuring a safe, healthy environment for all members and visitors. Everyone must act responsibly and help prevent accidents, injuries, or property damage.
The Shed maintains safe facilities, equipment, and incorporates best practices into management and daily operations. To promote safety, we will:
Comply with our Safety Rules at all times.
Keep the environment and equipment safe.
Prevent exposure to hazards from operations.
Implement clear emergency and evacuation procedures.
We have appointed Designated Managers for Woodworking and Engineering/Welding, supported by Duty Managers present during opening hours to assist and oversee safe use of equipment.
Health and safety inspections occur at least every three months, with hazards mitigated promptly.
All incidents are recorded and addressed, and members can participate in health and safety improvements.
Mandatory Training and Assessment Plan
All members must understand how to safely use shed equipment. The Safe Use of Equipment Assessment Manual (8 modules) guides training; members must pass relevant modules, as assessed by qualified trainers, to receive badges indicating their approved equipment.
All participants must use due care and avoid exposing anyone to danger during club activities.
